installed windows 10 creators update try new forza 7 demo. ever since update, unable tv play @ 2560x1440 60hz. resolution , refresh rate used time before installing update. whatever reason, windows lets me set refresh rate on 30hz when choose 2560x1440 resolution. however, if change resolution 3840x2160 windows lets 60hz fine. i've tried installing , reinstalling drivers several times no avail. it's worth noting windows doesn't recognize "generic pnp monitor". nvidia control panel recognizes though. lastly, windows says recommended resolution 1920x1080, incorrect since it's 4k tv. disabling game bar , or game mode did not either. hi, possible reason concern software conflict. suggest performing clean boot start pc minimal set of drivers , startup programs determine causing conflict. we'll keep eye out reply. hi, i have been using windows 7 on alienware laptop. year upgraded system windows 10 when rolled out , provided option , eligiable free upgrade.  everything ok until last week, when laptop started taking considerable time in loading windows screen. time taken long since have ssd installed main disk. a day after put system in sleep (in night) , turned on next day system load faster. once reach home screen, when hit enter (usually system display enter pin) not see pin box. screen has light black shade , no enter pin text or box. unable sign laptop. i tried enter through safe mode (i had improper shut down bring troubleshooting screen since shift didnt work me). once in safe mode network on ., tried run upgrade tool, media creator tool failed. not sure if due safe mode. how bring login box me enter credentials , log account ?  Windows / Windows 10

my laptop screen brightens , dims repeatedly , forth, typically while i'm running mildly cpu-intensive. don't need have else going on, problem has manifested no programs open besides video editor , document of video notes. apart being extremely distracting, has effect of stuttering frames in video editing software during playback, , dropping frames in video games. few seconds after pause video editor or close whatever game i'm playing, dimming , brightening continues several seconds before returning normal.  i disabled adaptive brightness weeks ago, , check see it hasn't magically turned on, problem persists. it's not adaptive brightness; seems tied processing, can't find way turn off or make stop. check power plan: maybe you're on power saver? search cortana power options. try changing high performance or balanced. hey everyone, about 2 weeks ago updated pc throughout new windows update. however, , since then, started taking time startup (i have programs disabled during it), screen turns black , dot circle keeps rounding. after that, windows welcome menu takes long sign up. the worst part - pc keeps freezing 2 2 minutes, when im on internet, gets stuck , screen turns black. takes long make simple things like: open control panel, open windows explorer, etc... im desperate, suppose do? this submitted first time tried assisted issue: i have had bug twice mouse won't work anymore first time bug got point corrupted motherboard , fried had motherboard 2 years before got forced windows 10 update , worked fine. after update computer started slowing down , started having mouse bugs , no matter did couldn't fix it. bought brand new motherboard ram , processor , downloaded windows 8  try use instead since os prefer again forced me update 10 because  drivers needed 10. hoping bugs fixed since hadn't seen them since 2016 nope still there , doesn't tech support microsoft useless in helping me on phone got point swore googling half crap trying do. had no idea issue was. , barely spoke english had trouble understanding him as couldn't understand me. in end got no issue , refuse reset of computer since that's messed first time had issue. doesn't matter usb port plug mouse work in bios second windows startup happens
