good day everyone,    have hard drive in process of failing. hard drive sata drive , installed in laptop. drive hitachi hdd. because laptop no longer boot removed drive , put on usb sata adapter access on desktop pc. desktop pc above average machine. issues not due desktop being old or underpowered.    here symptoms experience once connect drive usb adaptor. if try open disk management snap-in not open. try connect virtual disk service not. if remove usb connected disk snap-in open immediately. if try open hdd diagnostic software same thing happens. software not run until drive removed system. if open computer, pc, or whatever microsoft calls now, open there green status bar moves across address bar never seems finish. when connect drive system pc shows drive , drive letter files not accessible. i go on more example sure idea.    not happen on windows 10 pc, happens on windows 8.1 pc.    guess question this, why happen? why failing h
