hi -- have 2 computers (hp , dell) both running windows 10...both activated , date.  if swap drive hp dell, there negative impact on functionality of windows? have situation drive in dell acting swapped drives.  now can't update...windows or applications...and i'm unable install no apps (e.g., putty).  the installs start hang. ask ramifications of swapping drives due comment forum moderator in thread regarding installing windows 10 when replacing drive.  the comment was: "when upgraded previous version of windows or receive new computer preinstalled windows 10, happened hardware (your pc) digital entitlement, unique signature of computer stored on microsoft activation servers." i'm wondering if unique signature invalid drive has been moved different computer. next step going swapping drives.  after that, i'll have wipe drive , try fresh windows install. -- jeff [moved from: windows   /   windows 10

hello have windows 10 laptop , have been trying run dvds on it. when put dvd in comes dvd being udf file cant laptop has nothing read files, when open udf file 2 folders come  audio_ts empty , video_ts has files in non of udf file. have looked around information haven't found helps. if know how fix please tell me. ok, udf file system on dvd disc - standard nowadays (it used iso 9660) think of udf equivalent of fat32 or ntfs on hard drive it normal on dvd audio_ts folder empty legacy folder older dvd format the files in video_ts contain actual dvd data . . . to play dvd, download vlc player  (probalby popular , useful free media player) or other free media player available on web Windows / Windows 10 / Devices & drivers / PC

i have 2 external drives i've been using backup surface pro 3 on year.  today, windows 10 not recognize either drives backup purposes. - diskmgmt.msc shows both drives "healthy" , partition - device manager shows both drives working properly - devices can seen under control panel>hardware & sound>devices & printers - both devices can been seen when go eject them  however - neither devices show in windows explorer - neither devices recognized windows backup tool. cannot find "any usable drive". cannot add drive because can't find "any usable drive" - i've uninstalled devices under disk manager. rebooted. , added them in.  still cannot see devices under explorer or @ windows backup. -windows 10 has latest updates -all device drivers updated help!  thanks in advaance please use snippingtool.exe create snapshot of disk manager, attach snapshot

hello, i've upgraded ssd samsung 850 evo. cloned original ssd onto new evo drive after installed new drive not able log windows. there wasn't option so. there security features windows 10 prevent cloning drive? no longer have os disc don't want format , reinstall. if put old drive in have no issues logging in. hi, my experience cloning doesn't work various reasons... especially if hdd\ssd's of different size... you may have better luck if make image of old ssd, load onto new one.. you may need adjust partitions fit new ssd if of larger size... the reloading on image done while booting imaging programs boot media, , not within windows, helps reduce interference windows.. btw... have set new ssd boot device ? if using uefi bios select "windows boot manager", not actual drive older legacy bios... after recent win10 1709 update network icon has in sys tray linked network , internet settings how change network , sharing? subject pretty explains it, after updated fall creators update network icon in system tray takes me network , internet settings instead of network , sharing center. kinda irritating since have right click , select network , internet settings , there click network , sharing center. realize isn't huge deal support , it's kinda frustrating several times day have step in order access menu used able access more directly... is there anyway change option way it's been literally years , years. when right click network icon near time takes me directly network , sharing instead of making me go network , internet settings , click network , sharing... not huge deal if knows how can fix please let me know. thanks (also clear overall i'm extremely pleased recent update, excluding 1 small frustrating tweak)
