Dell Latitude E6430 starts up, black screen - Microsoft Community

hi all,

since few weeks laptop (dell latitude e6430) has been acting weird. turn laptop off ‘correct’ way (via start menu), few weeks ago, when turned on laptop started fine, there no screen whatsoever; black screen. 

i turned off, removed battery , unplugged battery cord, pressed power on button 30 seconds , plugged battery etc etc in. doing worked, had press f2 , f1 (if press f2 while pressing on power button, “keyboard initializing failure” menu popped up, that’s how press f1 , continued starting , booting windows 10 system).

however, none of these things work now. i’ve been trying whole evening laptop work, nothing happens :(

hi lois,

outdated drivers 1 of usual cause why experiencing black screen issue. isolate root cause of it, confirm if still able see login screen before black screen happened. if so, suggest booting computer to safe mode networking.

this login computer , perform needed steps isolate issue. here article on how it: start pc in safe mode in windows 10. kindly follow steps under from sign-in screen option.

after boot computer safe mode, follow steps on article: troubleshoot black screen or blank screen errors. this provide appropriate steps troubleshoot issue.

hello, so bought new laptop came windows 10 pre-installed. when unpacking, store clerk created dummy local account used when starting first time - make process faster syncing microsoft account, can sync later - said. anyway, done , welcomed desktop. synced microsoft account , went in. synced right away - down wallpapers , themes - save 1 thing; the account name. it still using dummy local account name, despite picture has changed account picture. clicked 'sign in microsoft account instead', , process failed in end. said "[my e-mail account] here already. user in device uses microsoft account, can't add here" i tried removing e-mail & app account under 'e-mail & app account' tab , when tried again, still didn't work. please, want name here. oh, , don't know topic should fall - there's no 'sync' specifically, pick 1 think closest. sorry in advance. ...
