split thread.

i purchased new computer. after upgrading windows 10, printers no longer appear in device manager

ron -

rather spending more time fiddling i'd clean reinstall printer works, lasts longer , saves time:

power printer, if wired unplug it's usb cable pc.

right click start button in windows 8/10  open apps , features  (or in windows 7 type in start search) uninstall printer software. restart.

next copy , paste in start search box:  printui/s /t2

 right click result run administrator.

open print server properties, remove printer’s drivers printer , other printers don't use presently.  if message access denied or printer being in use , cannot find driver or installed program account this, may restart computer in diagnostic startup , use printui  command remove driver package(s) (see how perform diagnostic startup in windows). must restart normal mode before able install printer again.

now type control panel in start search, open cp, choose icon view.  in  control panel open devices , printers, right click printer delete printer , scanner or fax of same name.  restart pc.

go the  printer  model’s  support downloads webpage download , install basic driver.  if wireless printer need full software package set fully.   if want able scan printer top pc you'll need full package

extract printer software, right click setup file run administrator.  follow setup screens closely install software.  for usb it  should prompt when plug in printer.

if have further problems reply results of each step.
