Why is the 'Join a Domain' button missing? - Microsoft Community

if install windows 10 on new machine , try join domain can't, button isn't there.  can't join domain while i'm installing windows, says have create account , join later.

turns out have go , enable local administrator account (which disabled these days) , log in before button available.

use feedback app suggest not useful setup i'm not allowed run because i'm logged in administrator i'm not allowed use computer.

don't understand why has difficult, i'm not doing unusual.  microsoft deliberately trying make life difficult sys admins?

there way join domain doesn't require fiddling about?

you no response connect button or join device local active directory domain button?

i tried , pops right here, issue might on server side. machine added under computers in active directory?

can ping server see if able reach it? 

also, make sure network set work, disable antivirus utility temporarily.

also make sure network discovery enabled on machine.

keep me updated on this.

hello, so bought new laptop came windows 10 pre-installed. when unpacking, store clerk created dummy local account used when starting first time - make process faster syncing microsoft account, can sync later - said. anyway, done , welcomed desktop. synced microsoft account , went in. synced right away - down wallpapers , themes - save 1 thing; the account name. it still using dummy local account name, despite picture has changed account picture. clicked 'sign in microsoft account instead', , process failed in end. said "[my e-mail account] here already. user in device uses microsoft account, can't add here" i tried removing e-mail & app account under 'e-mail & app account' tab , when tried again, still didn't work. please, want name here. oh, , don't know topic should fall - there's no 'sync' specifically, pick 1 think closest. sorry in advance. ...
