Getting Icons instead of Thumbnail Pictures for my Photos in Windows - Microsoft Community

i've got many photos saved in folders on 2 computers both using windows 10. used open folder , photos in opened thumbnails. either open icons or open thumbnails change icons after second or two. have open files individually close folder reopen it. have 2 or 3 times before photos stay open thumbnails. i've googled , many others reporting same problem , saying started after recent window update. suggested checking settings in options i've done , they're correct. frustrating. can please , there windows update in pipeline resolve issue?

the challenge you're experiencing possibly due corrupted system files on computer. assist concern, know following:

  • did make changes on computer before issue started?
  • have tried troubleshooting steps far?
  • which windows 10 build , version running? know build , version of windows 10 computer, follow these steps:

  1. press windows key + r open run dialog box
  2. type winver , press enter key.

as initial troubleshooting, recommend use system file checker tool. scan , repair corrupted system files found on computer. so, click on link.

hello, so bought new laptop came windows 10 pre-installed. when unpacking, store clerk created dummy local account used when starting first time - make process faster syncing microsoft account, can sync later - said. anyway, done , welcomed desktop. synced microsoft account , went in. synced right away - down wallpapers , themes - save 1 thing; the account name. it still using dummy local account name, despite picture has changed account picture. clicked 'sign in microsoft account instead', , process failed in end. said "[my e-mail account] here already. user in device uses microsoft account, can't add here" i tried removing e-mail & app account under 'e-mail & app account' tab , when tried again, still didn't work. please, want name here. oh, , don't know topic should fall - there's no 'sync' specifically, pick 1 think closest. sorry in advance. ...
