hi

my wife accidently pulled plug on computer.  not sure if windows was in process of updating (was not present when happened) because when plugged power cord back in , try restart it, the computer would not.

the message says hardware or software change might have occurred?  fix

1.)  insert windows installation disc , restart

2.)  choose language, time, etc.

3.)  click "repair computer"

file: \boot\bcd

status: 0xc0000098

info: boot configuration data file doesn't contain valid information operating system.

i loaded windows 7 cd, goes through process of starting up, , continues "repair computer".  from there, instructions microsoft click on the "operating system"?  none shows up, cannot type in "bootrec.exe" , execute.

now message file or directory \system volume information corrupt and unreadable. please run chkdsk utility.

why can not "restore" of start using windows partition file on computer?
