100 % hard disk problem - Microsoft Community


i had windows 10 on lenovo laptop last year , working fine in beginning performing , out of nowwhere 1 day disk started heat , froze not complettely frozen really slow simplest task move tab on chrome take lot of time , @ moment wasnt able shutdown computer because super slow pressed while on start button until laptop went off , started again, laptop boot fast , ok mouse moves super quick until try open browser chrome or go through files. long story short decided full format , deleted windows 10 , installed windows 7 , laptop performing again before except hard disk still gets little warm ( before problem happened hard drive cold ) @ least laptop funktioned ok , wanted go windows 10 , did today , have 100 % disk problem , making laptop slow.

please me because need laptop current project.

ps: tried soooo many solutions deactivating services nothing helped

the 100% disk usage due various reasons , can resolved various troubleshooting well. try out methods below, 1 after other , check if helps:

method 1: disable windows search. windows search makes searching files on pc faster, however, there situations can make overall pc's performance slower. if problem goes away after disabling windows search, can permanently disable it.

a. press win+x open power user menu.

b. select command prompt (admin).

click yes if prompted user account control.

c. type following command , press enter:

net.exe stop "windows search"

method 2: disable superfetch. superfetch helps decrease pc's boot time, however, it's been known cause disk performance issues.

a. press win+x open power user menu.

b. select command prompt (admin).

click yes if prompted user account control.

c. type following command , press enter:

net.exe stop superfetch

method 3: perform disk check.

a. press win+x open power user menu.

b. select command prompt (admin).

click yes if prompted user account control.

c. type following command , press enter:

chkdsk.exe /f /r

d. type y confirm you'd perform disk check next time reboot pc.

note: make sure applications closed.

method 4: temporarily disable third-party antivirus.

make sure enable after checking disk performance.
