PC won't boot (windows 10) - Microsoft Community

my pc updated windows8 windows10 couple of months ago.  won't start.  tried use restore point restore system, got messages "the restore point damaged" , "failed extract original copy", or "failed extract file ...".  should do?

for information:  used command prompt , found there 2 windows folders, 1 "windows", "windows.old" .  please let me know if possible me try windows.old boot pc, and, if possible, how it.  if not possible, other ways boot computer?

thanks.

sorry delayed response. if resetting did not work, might operating system corrupted. can suggest clean install of windows. backup important files before doing it. refer forum article created greg carmack - windows mvp guided steps on how clean install of windows.

update outcome can provide further assistance.
