Windows 10 still generating error message sometimes when shutting down - Microsoft Community

hi

my windows 10 generating following error message "the application unable start correctly @ 0xc000142. click ok close application." when shutting down or restarting hp desktop. error happened right shortly after windows 10 fall creators update installed weeks ago. then, updated drivers on computer , cleaned temporary files in system. now, desktop gets error message only sometimes when try shut down or restart computer. more half time, computer doesn't generate error message anymore , shut down normally. possible causes of problem , solutions ? appreciated.

error code 0xc000142 due corrupted system files on computer. recommend run system file checker. system file check is a utility available in windows 10 checks system file corruption. if issue isn't resolved performing sfc, kindly use dism. dism used troubleshoot errors sfc can't resolve.

see article: using system file checker in windows 10 , follow on-screen instructions. in event sfc wasn't able resolve issue, click on more info on system file checker , go dism on thread steps.

hello, so bought new laptop came windows 10 pre-installed. when unpacking, store clerk created dummy local account used when starting first time - make process faster syncing microsoft account, can sync later - said. anyway, done , welcomed desktop. synced microsoft account , went in. synced right away - down wallpapers , themes - save 1 thing; the account name. it still using dummy local account name, despite picture has changed account picture. clicked 'sign in microsoft account instead', , process failed in end. said "[my e-mail account] here already. user in device uses microsoft account, can't add here" i tried removing e-mail & app account under 'e-mail & app account' tab , when tried again, still didn't work. please, want name here. oh, , don't know topic should fall - there's no 'sync' specifically, pick 1 think closest. sorry in advance. ...
