have been on useless goose chase hour ms tech support on phone, no 1 can answer simple question. "is windows 10 professional compatible on older network running server 2003?" run windows 7 professional on other computers on network adding new 1 requires use of newer os. not recommend support services provided when calling in main number - no 1 knows anything, pass along else , end @ "product activation" hangs when not wish activate , there no way go back. still sitting on hold umpteenth time , fourth time calling in.

yes, can, last time had server 2003 domain setup , tried it:

join domain, must first ensure have following information , resources:

user account on domain, information can network administrator.
name of domain.
computer running windows 10 pro or enterprise/education editions
domain controller must running windows server 2003 (functional level or later).
discovered during testing windows 10 not support windows 2000 server domain controllers.

hello, so bought new laptop came windows 10 pre-installed. when unpacking, store clerk created dummy local account used when starting first time - make process faster syncing microsoft account, can sync later - said. anyway, done , welcomed desktop. synced microsoft account , went in. synced right away - down wallpapers , themes - save 1 thing; the account name. it still using dummy local account name, despite picture has changed account picture. clicked 'sign in microsoft account instead', , process failed in end. said "[my e-mail account] here already. user in device uses microsoft account, can't add here" i tried removing e-mail & app account under 'e-mail & app account' tab , when tried again, still didn't work. please, want name here. oh, , don't know topic should fall - there's no 'sync' specifically, pick 1 think closest. sorry in advance. ...
