How to select PCM stereo output for digital audio S/PDIF jack? - Microsoft Community

i looking upgrade sound pc. wish bypass sound card of computer plugging in digital-to-analog converter (dac) in usb 2.0 port. i've learned can stream digital audio way selecting dac default audio output device. however, dac considering can stream data digital optical output on pc dac. tech rep dac told me stream music both optical output and usb port alternatively , see sounds better. however, dac utilize digital optical jack must set pulse-code modulation (pcm) stereo output. 

hence problem. see no menu option selecting pcm stereo output opposed dts or dolby multi-channel audio in sound controls optical output (in "supported formats" section of "digital audio s/pdif properties" menu. (microsoft wma pro audio offered in menu, don't know or if changes digital optical audio output pcm format.) utilize digital optical output pc dac rep suggested if @ possible. please advise.

hi,

the settings audio managed in few ways, through control panel's default program or program installed along sound card drivers. being said, since using not default audio output, suggest update sound card driver checking manufacturer's website. in event have installed latest driver sound card, suggest contacting manufacturer of sound card provide necessary steps on how change audio pcm.

hello, so bought new laptop came windows 10 pre-installed. when unpacking, store clerk created dummy local account used when starting first time - make process faster syncing microsoft account, can sync later - said. anyway, done , welcomed desktop. synced microsoft account , went in. synced right away - down wallpapers , themes - save 1 thing; the account name. it still using dummy local account name, despite picture has changed account picture. clicked 'sign in microsoft account instead', , process failed in end. said "[my e-mail account] here already. user in device uses microsoft account, can't add here" i tried removing e-mail & app account under 'e-mail & app account' tab , when tried again, still didn't work. please, want name here. oh, , don't know topic should fall - there's no 'sync' specifically, pick 1 think closest. sorry in advance.
