Windows 10 suddenly demands a password! - Microsoft Community

hi

my laptop wants password, though i've never had password machine! 

i've tried every permutation , researched (alleged) ways bypass first hurdle (eg: restart+shift enable various other start-up options, of lead me need password), stumped. 

i see i'm not alone! many others have experienced problem w10, , far can tell people can 'fix' problem - despite protestations contrary - microsoft tech people.

i user of laptop, , therefore 'administrator'. no new soft or hard ware installed prior problem manifesting. caps lock off. i've used onscreen keyboard. i've cried little. do?

-> since pcs not (yet) have feelings, tears wasted. here more effective remedy:

  1. ask friend create bootable repair flash disk on windows 10 machine, using command recoverydrive.exe. not copy system files!
  2. boot machine disk.
  3. use system restore set windows point when able log on.
  4. plan ahead , create, test , document spare admin account, same have spare house key.

hello, so bought new laptop came windows 10 pre-installed. when unpacking, store clerk created dummy local account used when starting first time - make process faster syncing microsoft account, can sync later - said. anyway, done , welcomed desktop. synced microsoft account , went in. synced right away - down wallpapers , themes - save 1 thing; the account name. it still using dummy local account name, despite picture has changed account picture. clicked 'sign in microsoft account instead', , process failed in end. said "[my e-mail account] here already. user in device uses microsoft account, can't add here" i tried removing e-mail & app account under 'e-mail & app account' tab , when tried again, still didn't work. please, want name here. oh, , don't know topic should fall - there's no 'sync' specifically, pick 1 think closest. sorry in advance. ...
