How do you change permissions for the volsnap.sys file when you can - Microsoft Community

i trying replace copy of volsnap.sys file pc says don't have permission this.

i'm unable change permissions file. edit , remove functions greyed out under file properties , security tab thereunder. can view permissions not change them or remove users reinput them full permissions.

my laptop rebooting every 20 minutes or so. happened after recent update being security update microsoft office compatibility pack service pack 3 (kb3213647) 32 bit edition on 12 october 2017. it's been trying install update windows 10 insider preview 17025.1000 (rs_prerelease) past month or without success.


the fix can find replace volsnap.sys file in c:\windows\system32\drivers version of file. when try says don't have permission so. sole user of laptop , it's not connected networks. how permission?

hello, so bought new laptop came windows 10 pre-installed. when unpacking, store clerk created dummy local account used when starting first time - make process faster syncing microsoft account, can sync later - said. anyway, done , welcomed desktop. synced microsoft account , went in. synced right away - down wallpapers , themes - save 1 thing; the account name. it still using dummy local account name, despite picture has changed account picture. clicked 'sign in microsoft account instead', , process failed in end. said "[my e-mail account] here already. user in device uses microsoft account, can't add here" i tried removing e-mail & app account under 'e-mail & app account' tab , when tried again, still didn't work. please, want name here. oh, , don't know topic should fall - there's no 'sync' specifically, pick 1 think closest. sorry in advance.
