i'm trying transfer media gopro hero 5 , realized computer isn't recognizing device. test if gopro or computer, plugged in old samsung galaxy s4 , downloaded drivers , computer wouldn't show me driver. tried running troubleshooter , got "the usb controller in failed state or not installed. usb controller must installed or in working state troubleshooter run", response. usual googled problem , found couple of possible solutions , after trying majority of them, still having same issue. can think of might have missed? if please let me know!

  • have made changes prior issue?
  • what troubleshooting steps have done far?
