PC hangs while rebooting after Software Updates - Microsoft Community

whenever perform windows update or update piece of software , system asks reset computer, find system hangs @ windows logo , doesn't want proceed.  circle timer underneath doesn't appear , have shut pc off , reload it.  appears happen intermittently unsure cause.

i have tried numbers of fixes.  running memory test (as per instructions of computer manufacturer - passed fine), clean windows installation, updating latest drivers, heat tests make sure system isn't overheating, run system scan through command prompt (no problems) , have turned off fast boot option in bios , windows settings see if helps (waiting see if anything).

it's causing tech guys scratch heads bought pc from, great.

pc i7 &&00k

16gb ram
gtx 1080ti
m.2 128mb contains windows 10
ssd 500gb contains other programs , files

the pc performance you're experiencing due various reasons. right now, suggest performing troubleshooting maintenance such disk cleanup , defragmentation.

to perform disk cleanup, may refer support article. defragmentation, see steps below:

  1. click on start, search, or cortana, , type defrag.
  2. select defragment , optimize drives.
  3. select (c:) drive, , click optimize.

after performing both disk cleanup , defrag, run system file checker scan ensure there no further conflicts. here support article reference.

hello, so bought new laptop came windows 10 pre-installed. when unpacking, store clerk created dummy local account used when starting first time - make process faster syncing microsoft account, can sync later - said. anyway, done , welcomed desktop. synced microsoft account , went in. synced right away - down wallpapers , themes - save 1 thing; the account name. it still using dummy local account name, despite picture has changed account picture. clicked 'sign in microsoft account instead', , process failed in end. said "[my e-mail account] here already. user in device uses microsoft account, can't add here" i tried removing e-mail & app account under 'e-mail & app account' tab , when tried again, still didn't work. please, want name here. oh, , don't know topic should fall - there's no 'sync' specifically, pick 1 think closest. sorry in advance. ...
