New Update might have killed my old games - Microsoft Community

i've had bizarre , 1 of kind issue haven't seen come anywhere else. since latest update installed less week ago, every game close 10+ years old has quit working. guild wars 2, napoleon total war, medieval 2, empire @ war etc, dont work regardless of whether on cd or launched steam. newer games such endless space, overwatch, atilla total war work fine games do.

however old games don't work in same specific way. launch , freeze @ opening title/license screen, yet if hit ctrl alt del, game advance during limited time takes computer switch task manager. if keep hitting ctrl alt del, game advance forward 1 second @ time, doesn't freeze can still move mouse around , click on things in main menu, if game showing not responding @ moment. if computer putting frozen game on functioning game.

i've tried optimizing computer performance, virus scans, updating drivers, troubleshooting programs yet computer isn't detecting issues on front.

any great haven't bring kind of issue on tech forum anywhere.

hello, so bought new laptop came windows 10 pre-installed. when unpacking, store clerk created dummy local account used when starting first time - make process faster syncing microsoft account, can sync later - said. anyway, done , welcomed desktop. synced microsoft account , went in. synced right away - down wallpapers , themes - save 1 thing; the account name. it still using dummy local account name, despite picture has changed account picture. clicked 'sign in microsoft account instead', , process failed in end. said "[my e-mail account] here already. user in device uses microsoft account, can't add here" i tried removing e-mail & app account under 'e-mail & app account' tab , when tried again, still didn't work. please, want name here. oh, , don't know topic should fall - there's no 'sync' specifically, pick 1 think closest. sorry in advance.
