Windows 10 won't use second hard drive - Microsoft Community

i have windows 10 desktop pc , have added second hard drive first 1 getting full, can't find in library nor can install exceed spade availiable in first. drive visible in bios, drive managing program provided manufacturer, program fails retrieve information size , space availiable. both drives of identical size , same manufacturer, difference being time of installation in pc.

while searching fix came across similar problem , had responded should use device manager, , when tried both drives show , seem functioning. in fact, after going device manager, drives, , properties differences between drives seem in events. both state device has started , been configured, both on respective dates of first startup, functioning drive states has been migrated, @ same time. then, in information box vary quite lot, i'm going post info , hope can me problem.

hi. i'm greg, volunteer , 8 year windows mvp here you.

place start new hard drive disk management, accessed right clicking start button.

scroll down find drive in map @ bottom. if not formatted yet right click on drive format partition , if necessary assign drive letter it's detected. should able access in file explorer, set file history it, save system image backup use in place of reinstall.

hello, so bought new laptop came windows 10 pre-installed. when unpacking, store clerk created dummy local account used when starting first time - make process faster syncing microsoft account, can sync later - said. anyway, done , welcomed desktop. synced microsoft account , went in. synced right away - down wallpapers , themes - save 1 thing; the account name. it still using dummy local account name, despite picture has changed account picture. clicked 'sign in microsoft account instead', , process failed in end. said "[my e-mail account] here already. user in device uses microsoft account, can't add here" i tried removing e-mail & app account under 'e-mail & app account' tab , when tried again, still didn't work. please, want name here. oh, , don't know topic should fall - there's no 'sync' specifically, pick 1 think closest. sorry in advance. ...
