Window's update can't connect to the internet - Microsoft Community

my computer had catastrophic failure forced me reinstall windows, , delete files. upon succesfully reinstalling windows using usb device, attempted boot edge , install of old programs. despite me being connected internet, edge continuously give me "hmm can't reach page" error, details of temporary dns error or website connection reset. had friend downloaded google chrome onto usb , gave me, , chrome worked fine. after installing drivers , whatnot, went windows update screen , checked update, in case needed newer files. after few seconds, windows told me not connect internet, , despite restarts, reinstalling network adapter drivers, , friend in support, have not been able microsoft edge, internet explorer, windows update, or default-windows programs require internet, connect internet succesfully. non-windows programs connect without issue however.

can post screenshot of exact error message? error message may able immediate solution. please make sure no personal information can seen on screenshot.

we understand working friend works support. still need verify if steps provided microsoft in article, fix network connection issues in windows 10, followed.

hello, so bought new laptop came windows 10 pre-installed. when unpacking, store clerk created dummy local account used when starting first time - make process faster syncing microsoft account, can sync later - said. anyway, done , welcomed desktop. synced microsoft account , went in. synced right away - down wallpapers , themes - save 1 thing; the account name. it still using dummy local account name, despite picture has changed account picture. clicked 'sign in microsoft account instead', , process failed in end. said "[my e-mail account] here already. user in device uses microsoft account, can't add here" i tried removing e-mail & app account under 'e-mail & app account' tab , when tried again, still didn't work. please, want name here. oh, , don't know topic should fall - there's no 'sync' specifically, pick 1 think closest. sorry in advance. ...
