External Hard disk detect issue - Microsoft Community

hi - using transcend external hard disc of 1tb. working fine , stopped detecting on window 10 computer.

1) when connect - can hear disc rotating sound on external hard disc , see power light on

2) tried uninstalling using "universal serial bus controller" , uninstalling "usb mass storage device" device manager , restated computer , connected external hard disc again - didnt worked.

3) tried disc management using computer management - dont see disk in there.

appreciate if can guide me solve this.

hi,

the main reason unknown device display in device manager because have device not working correctly. fix issue, obtain updated driver device. suggest download , install updated driver device visiting manufacturer's website.
