hi jody - ms basic adapter placeholder driver never provide sleep or hibernate , gives poorer resolution. type check updates in start search expedite installing windows update may deliver newer driver. if not go hp support downloads webpage exact pc model or serial number: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers download , install latest display driver adapter starting windows 10, 8.1, 8, 7 in order. there other ways track down driver given in http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-update/windows-7-update-solution/f39a65fa-9d10-42e7-9bc0-7f5096b36d0c. if google hardware id take newer version. although hp may customize driver hardware, can try drivers device maker using autodetect tool. if have problems report full model number including extension , link driver pages you're working from. if compatible driver exists find it.
