Power State Driver Error... Please help! - Microsoft Community

i installed windows 10 approximately 6 - 10 months ago. have had no problems until last 3 weeks or so! 1 day started computer , booted way desktop , shut down, restarted, , went solid black screen white cursor in top left. after panicking, read on how reboot in safe mode, go device manager , uninstall bad driver (it 'generic pnp configuration' driver), reboot in normal mode. works fine, except... have daily!

i have installed lastest system updates... have asus monitor , have attempted download latest driver no success... once computer crashes , black screen white cursor, takes me numerous times of rebooting before can actual desktop reboot in safe mode. never "repair tool" supposed come windows 10. as hate it, i'm either going have revert windows 7 or possibly go operating system.

can me this? windows 10, , hate have go elsewhere functional operating system!

thanks,

jivetimejimmy

p.s. why aren't windows people fixing problem? seems world-wide!

hi,

troubleshoot blue screen errors <-- read link
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/troubleshoot-blue-screen-errors

can analyze minidumps if make them available
onedrive or other file sharing sites (such mediafire).
if have
problems uploading minidumps copy them desktop or
documents folder , upload them there.

one-drive - share files , folders , change permissions
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/onedrive/share-file-folder

upload photos , files
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/onedrive/add-photos-files

zip or upload contents of c:\windows\minidump

use onedrive upload collected files

=====================================================

"could" power supply problem though not common cause.

9f is likely driver issue. antivirus/antispyware/security programs can cause
these issues.

have added devices lately or updated drivers - sure check in windows
updates see if driver updated prior occurring.
caused loose card or cable , weak power supply.

error means driver not handling power state properly. check in
control panel - device manager sure major drivers not shut off
during sleep - double click display adapter - nic , wifi - sound ,
others - power management tab - uncheck allow computer turn off power.
maybe 1 has issue.

(use run instead of start - search used on vista or windows 7)

winkey + x - run - type in msconfig.exe

general tab - check diagnostic start  - apply / ok  -  reboot

try now. if still blue screens think video driver. if not think nic, wifi,
sound, or.....(and still video interacting else).
see troubleshooter link above generic driver update methods.

----------------------------------------------------------

this is my generic how proper driver updates :

utility makes easy see versions loaded :  run driverview -
set view hide microsoft drivers - update without dump in
names. (also update bios , low level chipset drivers)

driverview - free - utility displays list of device drivers loaded
on your system. each driver in list, additional useful information
displayed: load address of driver, description, version, product name,
company created driver, and more.
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/driverview.html

drivers check system maker fallbacks , device maker's
most current. control panel - device manager - display adapter - write down
make and complete model of video adapter - double click - driver's
tab - write down the version info. click update driver (this may not
ms far behind certifying drivers) - right click - uninstall -
reboot refresh driver stack.

repeat network - network card (nic), wifi, sound, mouse ,
keyboard if 3rd party own software , drivers , other
major device drivers you have.

go system maker's site (dell, hp, toshiba examples) (as rollback)
, device maker's site (realtek, intel, nvidia, ati examples) ,
latest versions. (look bios, chipset and software updates @ system
maker's site while there.)

download - save - go put them - right click - run ad admin -
reboot after each installation.

check in device manager - drivers tab sure version
installing actually shows up. because drivers rollback before
latest installed (sound drivers particularly this) install driver - reboot
- check sure is installed , repeat needed.

repeat @ device makers - btw at device makers not run scanner
check manually model.

manually @ manufacturer's sites drivers - , device maker's sites.

after doing updates can, , if issue continues, run
driververifier. (remember use windows 8/8.1 methods posted @
top of original reply above.)

using driver verifier identify issues windows drivers advanced users

how troubleshoot driver problems in windows vista or 7. (8/8.1 , 10
same).

winkey + x - run - type in -> verifier /reset      hit enter disable

use bluescreenview see if there driver specified in error message.
check with myeventviewer @ time of bluescreen.

if driver verifier creates minidump upload , post link here
can analyze it.

hope helps.
