Blue and green horizontal lines on laptop screen. - Microsoft Community

i have windows 10 laptop, few weeks ago, screen started having these horizontal lines across it, wherever appear screen freezes. starts bottom , have close laptop open again. today let , lines gone time being. might happen again next  time turn laptop on.

please me figure out problem, im not technical stuff please specific.

in cases, colored horizontal lines on screen indication of hardware failure, particularly video , graphics card or screen itself. chances of being software related may rare, we'd ask few things better assess , isolate situation , give appropriate advice:

  • laptop model
  • how old laptop/ how long have been using it?
  • did make significant changes in system before happened? (e.g. installing software, changing settings, etc.)
  • do colored lines appear on screen when first turn on  (bios or boot startup) or appear when you're logged in?
  • do encounter specific error messages when screen freezes?

here of things can basic troubleshooting , isolation:

  • if have second monitor, try connect laptop , see if lines still appear.
  • perform hard reset on laptop (press , hold power button turn off remove power supply). clear residual power may have accumulated during use.
  • if installed new software before issue began, suggest uninstalling them (if possible) see if makes difference.

hello, so bought new laptop came windows 10 pre-installed. when unpacking, store clerk created dummy local account used when starting first time - make process faster syncing microsoft account, can sync later - said. anyway, done , welcomed desktop. synced microsoft account , went in. synced right away - down wallpapers , themes - save 1 thing; the account name. it still using dummy local account name, despite picture has changed account picture. clicked 'sign in microsoft account instead', , process failed in end. said "[my e-mail account] here already. user in device uses microsoft account, can't add here" i tried removing e-mail & app account under 'e-mail & app account' tab , when tried again, still didn't work. please, want name here. oh, , don't know topic should fall - there's no 'sync' specifically, pick 1 think closest. sorry in advance. ...
