so i've been having problem laptop seems hard drive turning off not turning on again laptop running windows 10 (latest updates installed)
problem seems happen when when leave laptop in idle state (but not it's random) . i'll try explain better, system not totally locked can still click things example if i'm on web page can still scroll webpage problem shows it's face when try click link or open other program show clicked it's highlighted but laptop nothing try turn off system nothing in ram memory still able work extent did notice little light tells hdd being used or being accessed light never turns on when problem happens lead me believe when windows turns off drive doesn't quite turn on don't know, next time occurs i'll record , post video.
specs of laptop is:
cpu: core i5-7200u
gpu: intel hd graphics
hdd: 500gb (i don't know make , model)
ram: 8 gb (speed 1600 mhz).
os: windows 10

make sure essential software drivers updated:
recommend update critical ones: chipset, display driver, network adapters.

try these first see if work:
open start, type: cmd
right click cmd
click run administrator
type in @ prompt or copy , paste these 1 @ time : (hit enter after each)
dism /online /cleanup-image /checkhealth
dism /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth
dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
run system file checker utility:
open start, type: cmd
right click cmd
click run administrator
@ command prompt, type: sfc/scannow
check integrity violations
restart system
