my hp spectre x360 8th gen intel appears booting 1 of 2 modes, there doesn't seem indicator or cause experienced , difference whether or not system fan set proportionate temperature of system.
- [most frequent] fans running @ on 5krpm, not go below ever. @ high load increase , when load gone , temperatures lower fan speed lower again 5krpm. happen regardless of resource usage , temperature (see below screen capture)
- [uncommmon] fans run when system gets hot , when cools down stop again. testing fans can stay off until system hits 75c
the way have been able achieve #2 restart repeatedly until upon login windows there no fan running, mode stay until restart again or computer goes sleep. has been experience mode 2 never happens when waking up. if mode 2, put computer sleep , wake up, mode 1.
i have tried various power plans , power settings, both active , passive cooling policies, happens on battery , plugged in, same experience when booting safemode. fans system controlled seems be... wrong.
initially on windows 10 1703, upgraded 1709 , issue remains. thank in advance ideas may have!
sure have latest bios , chipset drivers.
check hp support , forums - no matter cause have seen , might have solution. , 1 of hp power programs can involved. have power plan set hp's? if not try , may need install power monitor program. right click start button - power options on far right "additional power settings" select power plan - hp have 1 there?
