low volume after windows 10 update - Microsoft Community


today pc has been stuck @ 74% during update windows 10.  has happened on several other updates recently.  had unplug computer unstuck.  pc works volume remains low though have set 100%.  help?

this can caused several different reasons. device driver issues common, can have diverse causes including bad sectors or software incompatibility. resolve this, let run hardware troubleshooter , see if issue persists. this:

  1. type “troubleshooting” in search bar , press enter.
  2. click on “view all” in top left corner.
  3. this display list of troubleshooters built-in in computer. can click on hardware , devices list , can run troubleshooter.

since updated windows 10 device, recommend running windows update troubleshooter. suggest check third-party drivers , download updates. can find third-party drivers , installation instructions hardware you’ve added device on manufacturer’s website.

unplug hardware. remove external storage devices , drives, docks, , other hardware might have plugged device isn’t needed basic functionality.

check device manager errors. select start  button, in search box on taskbar, type device manager. choose device manager results. in window pops up, device yellow exclamation mark beside (you may have select each category switch list of devices). press , hold (or right-click) device name , select either update driver software or uninstall correct errors.

update result can further assist you.
