How to stop Windows 10 disconnecting LAN in favour of Wifi? - Microsoft Community

connection keeps dropping, reason windows 10 trying switch lan wifi despite me disabling wifi adapter in bios. before disabling in bios sporadically activate wifi , disable lan ( see wifi symbol in system tray bottom right), tried setting priority lan in adapter settings of ipv4 both lan , wifi (setting wifi lower) didn't seem work. said windows 10 keeps trying although don't see wifi symbol in sytems tray anymore, interrupts lan connection 5-10 seconds , reconnects. bluetooth adapter not disabled i'm sure it's nothing that. drivers date.

normally, when connecting multiple networks, windows prompt error message , prohibit connecting internet. in case, ask additional information isolate issue. please answer following:

  • what make , model of pc?
  • what build , version of windows 10 using?
  • have made recent changes or updates before issue occured?
  • aside disabling wi-fi adapter in bios, other methods have tried far?

hello, so bought new laptop came windows 10 pre-installed. when unpacking, store clerk created dummy local account used when starting first time - make process faster syncing microsoft account, can sync later - said. anyway, done , welcomed desktop. synced microsoft account , went in. synced right away - down wallpapers , themes - save 1 thing; the account name. it still using dummy local account name, despite picture has changed account picture. clicked 'sign in microsoft account instead', , process failed in end. said "[my e-mail account] here already. user in device uses microsoft account, can't add here" i tried removing e-mail & app account under 'e-mail & app account' tab , when tried again, still didn't work. please, want name here. oh, , don't know topic should fall - there's no 'sync' specifically, pick 1 think closest. sorry in advance. ...
