Navigation pane no longer remembers expanded folders - Microsoft Community


ever since 1 of 10th of month windows 10 updates earlier year, "save" , "insert" , similar windows don't remember folders had expanded in navigation pane on left.

after every start up, i'm square 1 in random way. instead of remembering last file saved item "current" subfolder in "pictures" folder, default might "desktop." weird.

i called tech support several months ago noticed this, "tech" talked didn't know "navigation pane" or "expansion" is; didn't have idea talking about, i've given on until i'm asking again now. there windows setting i've missed? or why this?

the behavior of navigation pane depends on update adds, removes, , changes on computer. happen in specific update rolls out? can try switching default save location following steps on link. additionally, encourage send feedback using feedback hub.

  1. type feedback hub in the cortana search and press enter.     
  2. navigate to feedback in left menu, click + add new feedback tab.    
  3. select the problem, and share details want know, , choose appropriate category , subcategory.

    note: reproduce concern if possible while monitoring enabled. this, click begin monitoring or start capture to start recording and stop monitoring when you’re done.

  4. once you've completed form , monitoring, click submit.
  5. click my feedback at top, find item submitted.
  6. open item submitted, click share.
  7. click copy link, then paste link here in response (it like https://aka.ms/<unique link>).
