Windows 10 Creator- printer driver install fails- kernel mode fail - Microsoft Community

i using brother hl-1110 printer on machine successfully. win8.1 machine, upgraded win10 successfully.

i installed ssd in machine, , decided clean install of win10pro creator. went on install. win10 activated.

i installed epson cd printer successfully.

when went install brother hl-1110 printer, used installation software install driver , utilities. software installed before installing printer, , asks plug in , turn on printer.

when do, windows tries install drivers new usb device. fails, reporting driver unavailable, , want delete printer? brother installation software sits there waiting printer appear.

i have tried install printer using manufacturer cd, decompressed downloaded file brother web site, , windows update, windows refuses it. error message "windows can't install brother hl-1110 series kernel-mode print driver."

 

it appear in "devices , printers" , brother utility software opens when clicked on. not appear printer choice in apps.

brother told me it's not problem, go talk microsoft. guess that's last brother printer i'll buying...

any ideas? need laser printer prototyping simple pcbs.

i've got driver installed, don't know how. can't explain why tried this...

as printer had been shared across network, pulled out laptop, had been using printer network share. laptop runs win10pro creator, got there upgrade path, not clean install. 

i removed printer devices. i did full install routine, using brother setup installed utilities etc local printer on laptop. install went without peep. hmmm... shared printer on network.

i connected printer desktop (that not install driver.) found printer, told me had install drivers, , downloaded , installed drivers laptop.

not hiccup or beep. nothing. nada.

since drivers installed on desktop, moved printer it. removed shared printer did not appear anywhere, , plugged in. machine recognised printer, said "i've got drivers this", , installed it.

final result- printer installed on desktop machine wanted originally, , shared across network wanted i.e. before clean win10creator install.

the question needs asking why not accept printer driver local source, accept , install driver machine had printer installed on it...

i'm leaving unsolved @ moment, in case can come answer it. difference can see 1 machine had upgrade install, , other clean install.

hello, so bought new laptop came windows 10 pre-installed. when unpacking, store clerk created dummy local account used when starting first time - make process faster syncing microsoft account, can sync later - said. anyway, done , welcomed desktop. synced microsoft account , went in. synced right away - down wallpapers , themes - save 1 thing; the account name. it still using dummy local account name, despite picture has changed account picture. clicked 'sign in microsoft account instead', , process failed in end. said "[my e-mail account] here already. user in device uses microsoft account, can't add here" i tried removing e-mail & app account under 'e-mail & app account' tab , when tried again, still didn't work. please, want name here. oh, , don't know topic should fall - there's no 'sync' specifically, pick 1 think closest. sorry in advance.
