Unstable Bluetooth connection when using an Xbox One Controller on a - Microsoft Community

bought xbox 1 controller on amazon , tried connect via bluetooth surface pro (2017), connection has been unstable. first of all, pairing controller surface difficult, because windows registers controller "unknown device" or "bluetooth peripheral device", , in state, controller not usable @ all. light on controller keeps blinking, indicating controller not connected. after pairing , unpairing couple of times did register "xbox 1 controller". however, after pairing properly, bluetooth connection extremely unstable. if hold controller in positions, in lap or in front of chest, every other button press registered. when hold controller high in air, reacts more reliably, still not 1 expect. of happens regardless of distance between surface , controller. tried using while sitting directly in front of surface while sitting several meters away. regardless of , how use it, can't controller reliably transmit button presses surface. i'm using other bluetooth devices surface pen, arc mouse , type cover, , don't have problems them staying connected or registering inputs.

tried requesting replacement amazon, denied request, saying needed confirmation microsoft service employee indeed defective controller. since microsoft employees frequent these forums, i'd kindly ask comment can forward reply amazon. thank you.

hello, so bought new laptop came windows 10 pre-installed. when unpacking, store clerk created dummy local account used when starting first time - make process faster syncing microsoft account, can sync later - said. anyway, done , welcomed desktop. synced microsoft account , went in. synced right away - down wallpapers , themes - save 1 thing; the account name. it still using dummy local account name, despite picture has changed account picture. clicked 'sign in microsoft account instead', , process failed in end. said "[my e-mail account] here already. user in device uses microsoft account, can't add here" i tried removing e-mail & app account under 'e-mail & app account' tab , when tried again, still didn't work. please, want name here. oh, , don't know topic should fall - there's no 'sync' specifically, pick 1 think closest. sorry in advance.
