Face Login not working after Windows Update - Microsoft Community

my computer updated , face recognition locks up.  pin still work, can log windows using it, facial recognition won't work.  spent 2 hours chatting hp hoping find fix, since camera functional, told me software issue.  tried "virtual agent" here, didn't understand , have no idea how find real person here @ microsoft.  guess i'm not depending on kindness of strangers here on community board.  thank in advance advice.

one possible reason why windows hello may stop working after update may caused driver incompatibility. we need further investigation on concern can identify cause of issue. kindly answer following questions clarification:

  • were there changes on computer prior issue?
  • do encounter error codes/messages? if yes, can please provide screenshot of it? may refer link on how include screenshot in post.
  • aside chatting hp , trying reach out our answer desk team, can tell troubleshooting steps have done far?

furthermore, we suggest try steps below check sign in options:

  1. go settings.
  2. select accounts.
  3. choose sign in options.
  4. uncheck use sign in automatically finish setting device after update or restart.

hello, so bought new laptop came windows 10 pre-installed. when unpacking, store clerk created dummy local account used when starting first time - make process faster syncing microsoft account, can sync later - said. anyway, done , welcomed desktop. synced microsoft account , went in. synced right away - down wallpapers , themes - save 1 thing; the account name. it still using dummy local account name, despite picture has changed account picture. clicked 'sign in microsoft account instead', , process failed in end. said "[my e-mail account] here already. user in device uses microsoft account, can't add here" i tried removing e-mail & app account under 'e-mail & app account' tab , when tried again, still didn't work. please, want name here. oh, , don't know topic should fall - there's no 'sync' specifically, pick 1 think closest. sorry in advance. ...
