Remote Desktop App over VPN via an iPhone Hotspot - Microsoft Community

we've got rather interesting situation here, 

what have when try use microsoft remote desktop app connect our internal servers either our 2008r2 rds farm or administer 1 of other servers following error message. 

couldn't connect.

something went wrong when tried connect. if keeps happening, ask admin or tech support help.

this occurs when connected internet via iphone hotspot , connected our internal domain via vpn.

however if use old remote desktop program (mstsc.exe) can connect fine. 

we use remote desktop app because of screen scaling ability when uses using surface can read what's on screen.

if connect internet via normal wifi using same vpn connection works. 

it's not factor of speed i've connected using wifi has 4 mbps connection, , failed using iphone hotspot 12mbps connection. 

the surface windows 10 latest build ( september 2017) , remote desktop app version 10.1.997.0

has else come across , have solution make work.

hello, so bought new laptop came windows 10 pre-installed. when unpacking, store clerk created dummy local account used when starting first time - make process faster syncing microsoft account, can sync later - said. anyway, done , welcomed desktop. synced microsoft account , went in. synced right away - down wallpapers , themes - save 1 thing; the account name. it still using dummy local account name, despite picture has changed account picture. clicked 'sign in microsoft account instead', , process failed in end. said "[my e-mail account] here already. user in device uses microsoft account, can't add here" i tried removing e-mail & app account under 'e-mail & app account' tab , when tried again, still didn't work. please, want name here. oh, , don't know topic should fall - there's no 'sync' specifically, pick 1 think closest. sorry in advance. ...
