F2 key (and Enter key) crashing application - Microsoft Community

a client of our has been running custom-written application of ours since 1988. our application written them work in dos, later, rewrote work in windows. have been using these years , has been working without issue way through windows 7.

recently they added new computers running windows 10. installed application on computers , have had assortment of problems since.

the f2 key, used our application duplicate data in given field in record entered, produces run-time error , shuts down application.

the enter key, used to  move around 1 field another, same thing.

it appears dos copy command not working.

the team @ client did perform research might difference between old machines , new, other windows 7 , windows 10, running same application in windows 10 on computers without issue, other clients. gave me list of components present on new , not on old. because our application written in visual basic (5), thought might have reason our application no longer behaves did before. those components are follows:

can give me insight on can rectify problem clients , have answers ready other clients (and own computers) should encounter same things @ point?

program package install needed vc++. if not i'd assure client has installed , tested.

hello, so bought new laptop came windows 10 pre-installed. when unpacking, store clerk created dummy local account used when starting first time - make process faster syncing microsoft account, can sync later - said. anyway, done , welcomed desktop. synced microsoft account , went in. synced right away - down wallpapers , themes - save 1 thing; the account name. it still using dummy local account name, despite picture has changed account picture. clicked 'sign in microsoft account instead', , process failed in end. said "[my e-mail account] here already. user in device uses microsoft account, can't add here" i tried removing e-mail & app account under 'e-mail & app account' tab , when tried again, still didn't work. please, want name here. oh, , don't know topic should fall - there's no 'sync' specifically, pick 1 think closest. sorry in advance.
