when first got laptop (windows 10 pro), windows hello face recognition worked out of box. however, few months(?) ago, ability sign in hello "disappeared", along pin option. going settings, found pin wasn't set at all. change , remove buttons replaced lone add button. funny thing was, pressing add caused checking you dialog appear, asking pin. entering old 1 caused box accept , disappear, nothing else happened. i've ignored on few months.

just now, did more research, , found taking ownership of , deleting c:\windows\serviceprofiles\localservice\appdata\local\microsoft\ngc fixed problems pin , hello. did so. i'm able set pin. windows recognizes much.

now problem re-activating windows hello. press set up, triggers dialog information , get started , cancel. pressing get started prompts pin, works. pin dialog disapears, along get started button, leaving me cancel button.

i've tried sfc \scannow , dism commands - nada.

what can try?
