Windows 10 update bricked my computer - Microsoft Community


after recent date toshiba laptop i7 computer has crashed.

black screen , not boot has white cursor in top left corner not flashing( stable) reset boot load default , thats computer capable of can not reset factory 

is beyond or can suggest recovery solution.

moved from:  windows / windows 10 / windows update, recovery, & backup

never saw pc sort of bricked w10 not brought life in time takes re-install w10.  w10 not known ruining hardware.   w10, software package, can fried.

@lacrumb has requested info on pc.  nice know starting point.  however, if pc non-responsive,  yours option diminished.

if can forced shut down , return loop, may down 1 option.

download media creation on pc , request use on pc , bootable usb.

next, need find out how enter bios of toshiba.  have gotten bios of older toshiba , piece of cake.

in bios need change load order usb.

insert usb , force startup

you should see usb activity.  go default of partitions.

you should asked later remove usb.  , should ask re-start. @ point go bios , change load order c:  without usb, default c: step needs done sometime.

you should see setup file w10.  ask updates.  should 16299.19, latest public build.

expect loose apps , data.  believe have seen data survive expect worse.

been there, done on toshiba w10 paperweight , many hps fried w10.  how pc built in garage , has no o/s gets initial o/s.
