Windows 10 dwm.exe Application Error is there a fix??? - Microsoft Community

i posted issue on october 17th , no solution found. understandable had not been many similar questions asked years had never received solution. want issue resolved everyone, since issue major.

some details:

- on inspiron 15 7000. bought laptop around $700.

- laptop has never been damaged knowledge.

- did research issue , haven't found solution people asking question , me.

the main issues: 1) white/gray screen - cannot boot, 2) cannot boot in safe mode, 3) cannot restore backups.

error code 0xc0000142.

when turn on laptop:

- loads minute logo , spinning circle.

- loading continues except logo disappears.

- screen turns white following possibilities occurring: 1) application error message pops up, 2) have empty box no text in has empty button, or 3) there have nothing popping , white screen.

if box text shows up, @ top of message box, "dwm.exe - application error," , @ bottom, "the application unable start correctly (0xc0000142). click ok close application."

after that, cursor turn blue loading icon. message box disappears , screen stay white/gray. screen blink periodically.

when repeatedly press f12 on start , go windows boot manager, loads forever have retry.

i cannot system restore advanced repair after accessing boot manager because returns a 0x81000204 error. cannot safe mode. cannot safe mode. cannot safe mode.

please, issue must fixed. major , expensive issue.

there alternate fix:

restart pc 3 times.

go troubleshoot.

go command prompt.

enter chkdsk c: /r /x 

wait until finishes , restart.

wait few minutes hour.
