Wifi icon has a red x but I have wifi access - Microsoft Community
have been searching everywhere nothing has worked me. earlier today reset network , computer because internet wasn't working on laptop, , theres little red x on wifi icon though have internet access

right click network icon in system tray @ bottom right end of task bar troubleshoot problems.
did try restarting router , modem?
try updating network adapter driver pc's support downloads webpage.
try uninstalling network adapter driver in device manager. right click start open device manager, choose network adapter you're using, on driver tab choose uninstall, restart reinstall.

if nothing else works check version of windows 10 you're running @ settings>system>about. if not 1709 if haven't yet manually install fall creator version 1709 installing media creation tool , choosing upgrade now. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/m.... stable method upgrade new version (which need anyway) , bring date reinstalled windows solve other problems have.

i'd check @ settings>update & security>windows update under installed updates if there windows updates installed before problem started. can uninstall them link there see if problem goes away. if can hide updates using same tool above.

if still no luck i'd download latest media version of windows 10 site, click on iso or open bootable media, right click setup run repair install: https://www.heidoc.net/joomla/technology-scienc...
