WiFi connectivity - Microsoft Community

hi there,

i have toshiba laptop, around 2 years old, , in past week or has been unable connect wifi. comes saying "unable connect network", , shows network connected ethernet, rather than surround neighbors networks, , shows no bandwidth.

i've tried:-

       -network resets

       -updating network adapters

       -uninstalling network adapters , restarting laptop

but internet works when plugged ethernet. have suggestions on things can try regain wifi laptop.

1. when (approx. date) did purchase computer?

2. did computer come win10 preinstalled, did you clean install of win10, or did upgrade win7 computer or win8.1 computer [<=pick one!] to win10?

3. manufactured computer (e.g., dell; hp; acer; lenovo; asus)?

4. has norton application or mcafee application ever been installed on computer since bought it?

5. have ever run norton removal tool and/or mcafee consumer products removal tool?

6. version & os build of windows 10 is installed?

  • press & hold windows key , press the r key. in the run dialog, type winver , press the enter key.

hello, so bought new laptop came windows 10 pre-installed. when unpacking, store clerk created dummy local account used when starting first time - make process faster syncing microsoft account, can sync later - said. anyway, done , welcomed desktop. synced microsoft account , went in. synced right away - down wallpapers , themes - save 1 thing; the account name. it still using dummy local account name, despite picture has changed account picture. clicked 'sign in microsoft account instead', , process failed in end. said "[my e-mail account] here already. user in device uses microsoft account, can't add here" i tried removing e-mail & app account under 'e-mail & app account' tab , when tried again, still didn't work. please, want name here. oh, , don't know topic should fall - there's no 'sync' specifically, pick 1 think closest. sorry in advance. ...
