hi - help. i’ll describe each step of did royally mess computer. goal share wifi...but wifi gone!
1. set , activated hosted network via command prompt
2. set settings allow connection shared
3. attempted connect device never saw network
4. decided didn’t care went wifi networks , clicked “disable” on hosted network
5. wifi gone. can’t turn on physical key, no longer appears in network connections, switch greyed out in airplane mode settings. gone gone gone.
can me back??
open start type: regedit
right click regedit click run administrator
navigate following registry key:
hkey_local_machine\system\currentcontrolset\services\wlansvc\parameters\hostednetworksettings\
delete following key:
hostednetworksettings
restart try again.
run network adapter troubleshooter
open start > settings > update & security > troubleshoot
scroll down, select network adapters
click run troubleshooter
when complete, restart see if works.
if not, can try updating both network adapter drivers or uninstall them.
press windows key + x
click device manager
expand network adapters
right click adapter, click uninstall
exit device manager restart
windows 10 re-detect them , reinstall them.
