Windows 10, Lenovo Thinkpad, No Audio - Microsoft Community

shortly after got thinkpad summer, while watching youtube video, happened , audio cut off. however, computer believed audio fine; when running audio test service, indicator bar lit in green despite absolute silence @ 100% volume. true both speakers , headphones. no suggested solution had effect---restarting windows audio service didn't work, updating or rolling drivers didn't work, , nothing troubleshooter service suggested worked. computer consistently indicated thought sound occurring despite real lack of audio.

after no more 2 weeks, sound if nothing had happened. now, month later, similar situation has occured. difference, however, time windows informed me there had been "a problem" (complete light-blue screen of dread , frowny emoticon) , needed restart. when restarted, audio again found. ran troubleshooter , updated drivers, , tried fiddling windows audio service. again, there has been no result.

i pretty sure issue cannot drivers, nor audio service, nor audio enhancements (which have turned off, not did anything).

note: clarify, issue not limited sounds originating youtube or browser, entirety of sound output computer. why not think issue @ related browser or youtube.
