Printer stopped working after recent Windows 10 update - Microsoft Community

hi.

after recent windows 10 update (creators update), hp p2055 laserjet printer stopped working. instead od printer, can see usb issue in device manager. says "unknown usb device (device descriptor request failed". 

i tried:

1. delete device manager

2. delete every usb controller driver device manager

3. disable fast boot power manager

4. revert latest windows 10 update (but did not help)

5. change usb port

6. plug-in new usb controller pci-e port

7. search bios options use usb 2.0

just point out, printer working when connected on other computer.

nothing helped.

hi,

based on error message received, seems windows 10 no longer recognize usb device trying use. identify solution concern, ask additional information. please answer following:

  • are using plug , play usb connection printer?
  • have checked device manufacturer if there's updated driver compatible creators update available download?
  • do have usb ports available 2.0?

we wait response.

hello, so bought new laptop came windows 10 pre-installed. when unpacking, store clerk created dummy local account used when starting first time - make process faster syncing microsoft account, can sync later - said. anyway, done , welcomed desktop. synced microsoft account , went in. synced right away - down wallpapers , themes - save 1 thing; the account name. it still using dummy local account name, despite picture has changed account picture. clicked 'sign in microsoft account instead', , process failed in end. said "[my e-mail account] here already. user in device uses microsoft account, can't add here" i tried removing e-mail & app account under 'e-mail & app account' tab , when tried again, still didn't work. please, want name here. oh, , don't know topic should fall - there's no 'sync' specifically, pick 1 think closest. sorry in advance. ...
