After updating the Office Home & Student 2016 software, start up - Microsoft Community

i have office home & student 2016 on dell desktop computer. after updating software, start menu, cortana, edge not open. can open documents , folders on desktop. can shut down ctrl, alt delete. if attempt create new document error message "class not registered. have gone troubleshooting page of microsoft issues , tried many suggested. continue have problems. want downgrade software less problems. discouraged experience purchase. have software cannot use. many possible solutions , workarounds, appear problems may have been known before put on market purchase. if recourse?162.32 great deal of money me. not able use software. if problem never resolved, can software work, if have downgrade, , money paid software not work.

usually, issues startup menu, cortana, , edge after installing update occurs when there's incompatibility software or latest update causes system conflict. isolate concern, we'd ask following:

  • when mentioned you've updated software, referring office or windows update?
  • can share specific troubleshooting steps have done far?
