Windows Fall Creators Update (1709) made incorrect path to - Microsoft Community


after update "default apps file type" not show apps , none of files open dedicated program without manually launching it.

after scanning registry noticed file paths changed disk c while in reality on disk d. also, made startup programs , services not start causing me lot of trouble. what's going on , there fix?

hi,

windows files commonly reside in c drive. if file location has been changed, try putting them , see if apps launch upon start up.

you can perform system restore put computer original state:

  1. select the start button, type control panel and then choose it list of results.
  2. search control panel for recovery.
  3. select recovery > open system restore > next.
  4. choose restore point related problematic app, driver, or update, , select next > finish.

note: restoring won’t affect personal files, remove apps, drivers, , updates installed after restore point made.

in order submit new feedback, please follow these steps: 
   
1. on windows 10 device, search "feedback hub" in cortana search, launch app.   
2. navigate to feedback in left menu, press + add new feedback.   
3. select the problem, , share details think relevant, , choose appropriate category , subcategory.   
4. important: if possible, reproduce problem(s) after clicking begin monitoring (or start capture) near end of form; stop monitoring when you're done.   
5. once you've complete form , monitoring, click submit  
6. click continue using feedback hub  
7. click my feedback at top, find item submitted (it may take while appear.   
8. open item submitted, click share.   
9. click copy link, paste link in response (it like https://aka.ms/ link>)
