Remote desktop via wifi without hub/router - Microsoft Community


i have 2 laptops running windows 10 pro, , want run remote desktop on 1 (master) control other laptop using wifi. remote field scenario astronomy observatory run automated equipment in field no network of kind available. want set without router/hub power reasons , reduce complexity.

is possible this?  thinking need set manual ip address , shared subnet in ip settings between 2 machines on each wifi adapter, maybe edit hosts file machine names , ip addresses?  other settings need do?  policy/security or other settings prevent this/enable this?  thanks
