Program Files Corrupted After Windows 10 Patches Updates - Microsoft Community

hi there,

i running windows 10 anniversary update last patch updated september 28, 2017. other update adobe acrobat reader dc (18.009.20050) on december 02, 2017. have new firefox quantum downloaded , installed on november 18, 2017.

my problem started around november 25, 2017. can not open services manager, command prompt admin (powershell admin), advanced uninstaller. can not elevate cmd admin either. can not download , install including window 10 updates. although avast updater able update adobe acrobat reader dc.

every time click on shortcut , start icons of above apps, says there no programs associated or windows cannot find them. tried rollback , recovery can not access them because admin account not log me in. sure have correct password. tried log in ms account still asks me admin account password. tried changing admin account password there no prompt. not find admin account password change online either.

with these many glitches, think might have malware malwarebytes found nothing @ except cookies. superanti-spyware found nothing cookies. avast anti-virus found nothing either.

i open notebook pin. browsers work fine. internet connects. have not received email asking ransom.

this issue program files can caused corrupted system files , user account.

for better assist you, we'd know if issue persists in safe mode.

for more information on how boot computer in safe mode, click here.

to go out safe mode, right-click on start > click run > type msconfig > press enter> under boot tab, uncheck safe boot > restart.

in meantime, try create new user account , see if issue continue.

hello, so bought new laptop came windows 10 pre-installed. when unpacking, store clerk created dummy local account used when starting first time - make process faster syncing microsoft account, can sync later - said. anyway, done , welcomed desktop. synced microsoft account , went in. synced right away - down wallpapers , themes - save 1 thing; the account name. it still using dummy local account name, despite picture has changed account picture. clicked 'sign in microsoft account instead', , process failed in end. said "[my e-mail account] here already. user in device uses microsoft account, can't add here" i tried removing e-mail & app account under 'e-mail & app account' tab , when tried again, still didn't work. please, want name here. oh, , don't know topic should fall - there's no 'sync' specifically, pick 1 think closest. sorry in advance. ...
