Monitor 1 out of Range Error - Microsoft Community

os win 10 version 1703 (os build 15063.540)

a tower pc intel i7 7700k

graphics card: nvidia msi gtx 1080ti - drivers updated

monitor 1: 27" iiyama g-master ge2788hs - 1ms refresh

monitor 2: 24" iiyama prolite e2407hds - 2ms refresh

since 7 aug 2017 monitor 1 flashes on start up.

if left long enough out of range error.

currently workaround sign win 10 - turn off monitor 1 - wait around 5 minutes until monitor 2 comes up.  switch monitor 1 on , okay.

i have had discussions iiyama: 27" monitor new.   swapped out, still have same problem.

they saying issue down windows drivers used on start up, caused windows update.   have queried them.   have looked on ms support site , while issue has come before posts relate win 7 , two/three years old.

i have tried experimenting different cables - without success.

one thing say:  seems using 2 monitors.   have experimented using 1 monitor - , both boot fine.

any ideas somebody please?  currently, once win 10 fine, naturally boot properly.

many thanks.

hi jill,

it possible signal video adapter exceeds scan range of monitor. also, possible refresh rate of pc is incompatible monitor. further assist concern, kindly answer these following questions:

  • is monitor equipped either g-sync™ or freesync™ technology?
  • are connecting monitor gpu or motherboard?

we'll looking forward reply.

regards.
