HELP: Locked Out of My New PC (Windows 10) - Won't - Microsoft Community


i set new pc tower windows 10 , used regular microsoft account login , password use on other devices.  found couldn't adjust display resolution , after internet research, surmised needed uninstall , reinstall graphics card driver.  after uninstalling driver, restarted system, won't accept password.  the system prompting me password's hint, won't work.  i've tried re-setting microsoft login, seems change password outlook.com apps (e.g. outlook email) , can't new pc.  can me?

many david , anthony here on forum jessica , manuel responded query through microsoft help.  my issue has been resolved, why new pc's system repeatedly rejected correct password still mystery , steps outlined below not address actual problem.  

here steps took resolve problem:

  • locked out of desktop pc, knowing password correct, kept entering repeatedly until accepted.
  • once logged in, set local account administrator access if got locked out again, log in through local account.  here steps create local account:
    1. press windows key , r bring run box.
    2. type in netplwiz , click ok.
    3. put check mark on "user must enter user name , password use computer."
    4. click add.
    5. click on "sign in without microsoft account (not recommended)."
    6. click on local account.
    7. type in new user name in user name field, not enter password.
    8. click on next, finish.
    9. double click on newly created user name.
    10. select group membership tab.
    11. select administrator, click apply, click ok.
  • then changed password on user name set microsoft account.  

    here steps change password of account you're logged in with: 
    1. click ctrl+alt+del , click on change password.
    2. fill in old password field old password, new password in new password field , retype new password in confirm password field.
    3. click on arrow.

    here steps change password user name you're not logged in with:
    1. press windows key , r bring run box.
    2. type in netplwiz , click ok.
    3. click on applicable user name highlight it.
    4. click on reset password...
    5. dialog box open.  type new password in new password field , retype in confirm new password field.
    6. click ok.
    7. click apply , ok.

i'm able shut down , restart , log in microsoft account without problems.  why original password accepted 1-2 times out of 100 remains unexplained.
