Black Screen after Windows 10 Creators Update - Microsoft Community


hello,

i installed windows 10 fall creators update on hp laptop , have black screen, cursor, after signing in. have tried following black screen troubleshooting tips both pre- , post-login black screens, , did not resolve issue. brunt of issue, , appreciated. below list of additional information update , ive tried fix issue. 

-during update: screen said “this taking bit longer usual” (took 3 hours install) update finished , computer did final restart login screen. 

-after logging in, screen remains black moveable cursor. 

things i’ve tried

- manual restart of computer

- restarting in safe mode - screen still black

- screen refresh (win+ctrl+shift+x) - cursor moves middle of screen still black 

- running  startup repair blue startup meun - couldnt fix computer

- system restore - no previous restore data cancelled restore

- system image recovery - no precious system image cancelled recovery

- command prompt - comes on screen, didnt know driver video card driver exited

since have done troubleshooting steps needed in black screen issue, best option have contact manufacturer of device ask recovery disk. , there alternative option downloading windows 10 iso , create installation media. can visit link on how create windows 10 installation media , check using tool create installation media (usb flash drive, dvd, or iso file) install windows 10 on different pc (click show more or less information) section. can use install new copy of windows 10, perform clean install, or reinstall windows 10.
