i go color management control panel item, , it's poorly designed. gui extraordinarily unintuitive, not documented, , full of hidden gotchas , special conditions getting work in expected way. why monitor profile not apply when set? why have restart pc work? why have change in system defaults version of gui see change in behavior (after restart...of course!)? why every other color management program on face of earth better coded 1 , correctly loads profile graphics card or monitor's internal matrix/lut?

so, click on "understanding color management settings" link, , goes what? nothing. instead of showing token article, redirects irrelevant page!

where's support article, microsoft? it's been more decade, , still don't have documentation how color management system functions!

i contacted customer support , got 0 answers. referred me msdn network , dev forums. while may find answer, eventually, not want learn how write program interfaces windows color management system. want use it, , don't want have month of research find out how!

it's time, microsoft, address problem has been ignored consequence of agenda cater masses of unaware consumers out there. you've made progress in bringing hardware offerings date professional needs. in fact new laptops come wide-gamut displays! why must aspect of os go uncorrected?

not this, alternate softwares not correct problem of color-space aware apps malfunctioning while using wide-gamut monitor. people have been suggesting downmix color-space forcing wide-gamut monitors either use profiles srgb output gamut, or swapping monitor's internal gamut mode srgb. not solution!

after poring through forum after forum, youtube video after video, , support article after article, can count on 1 hand number of individuals whom i've read half-way decent description implementation of color-space aware workflows, in general, and, in windows, have found 0.

i beseech you, microsoft, hire team demystify undocumented feature in windows , re-design more explicit in descriptions , more intuitive use. needs tutorial, , gui redesign intuitively represents color-managed workflow beginners , professionals alike. needed, make windows viable platform professional content creation. until then, 0, apple 1.

if out there has comprehensive theoretical explanations, diagrams, etc of color-managed windows workflow, please let me know, , post them here , spread information!

hello, so bought new laptop came windows 10 pre-installed. when unpacking, store clerk created dummy local account used when starting first time - make process faster syncing microsoft account, can sync later - said. anyway, done , welcomed desktop. synced microsoft account , went in. synced right away - down wallpapers , themes - save 1 thing; the account name. it still using dummy local account name, despite picture has changed account picture. clicked 'sign in microsoft account instead', , process failed in end. said "[my e-mail account] here already. user in device uses microsoft account, can't add here" i tried removing e-mail & app account under 'e-mail & app account' tab , when tried again, still didn't work. please, want name here. oh, , don't know topic should fall - there's no 'sync' specifically, pick 1 think closest. sorry in advance.
